Upgrade breathes new life into office building

A TEESSIDE office development is open for business following a £1m makeover.

Fresh life has been breathed into Stockton’s Carbury House, located on Concorde Way at Preston Farm Business Park.

The modern offices have been upgraded and now have air conditioning, a lift and an under-floor cable management system as well as high quality finishing throughout.

Greg Davison, development director with Vardy Property Group which has undertaken the scheme, said he expected demand to be high for space.

He explained: “Virtually all that is left of the original building is the name and the main structure. We have created a new entrance which leads into a light, bright reception area with a glass atrium that tells visitors and staff alike that these are high quality premises.

“The upgrade has transformed what was a general business unit into a high specification office space finished to a very high standard but at a discounted cost when compared with the equivalent brand new building.”

He added: “Now the work is complete, Carbury House actually offers more than a refurbishment. The internal specification and finish are higher than for many new build offices but at a lower cost of £15 per sq ft, including car parking.”

Space at the building can be adapted for a number of different tenants.

There is also the option for a single tenant to take 6,000sq ft on one floor.
