Croxdale is sold within three weeks on market

THE credit crunch doesn’t seem to be having much effect on the business of one North East business sales specialist.

Newcastle based Moralee and Co has sold its second North-East pub in two weeks. What’s more the sale was agreed within three weeks of the property being put on the market.

The pub, The Croxdale in County Durham had now moved from private ownership to become part of a national pub company portfolio, selling off an asking price of £695,000.

“This was a freehold pub business in a great location, with a good restaurant and accommodation trade, as such it generated a huge amount of interest from a wide range of buyers. As a result it was on the market less than three weeks before a sale was agreed and solicitors were in instructed,” said Michael Wilds of Moralee and Co. who handled the sale. “It was bought by Enterprise Inns which owns thousands of public houses across the UK.”

Occupying a main road location, just four miles from Durham City centre, the Croxdale is in the heart of Croxdale village. It has a main bar, lounge and a spacious conservatory,

There are also eight en suite bedrooms on the first floor of the main building, which also houses a large Jacuzzi bath and sauna, while the old stable block has been converted into three further letting rooms and owner’s accommodation.
