REGULARS at a popular Northumberland pub will soon be seeing a new face pulling pints behind the bar.
Newcastle based business sales specialist, Moralee and Co, has recently completed on The Burnside in Longhoughton, off an asking price of £395,000. And the new owners have big plans for this popular watering hole.
The Burnside, the only pub in the pretty village of Longhoughton, acted mainly as a locals bar. However, due to its size and location, it could attract tourists visiting historic Alnwick and the stunning Northumbrian coast and countryside, as well as offering a retreat to service personnel from nearby RAF Boulmer.
“This is a freehold pub business with a great deal of potential, which the previous owners were unable to develop due to health issues,” said Michael Wilds, of Moralee and Co, who handled the sale. “Although it is licensed to open from 11am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 11am to midnight on Friday and Saturday, it has been operating on restricted opening hours.”
The Burnside comprises an open plan bar with seating for about 40, a catering kitchen and owner’s accommodation in the form of a self-contained, three-bedroom bungalow.
