Heavy workload prompts surveyors’ firm to recruit

A FIRM of chartered surveyors with offices in Alnwick, Durham and Hexham is recruiting two more surveyors to cope with extra work.

Youngs Chartered Surveyors, specialist in rural property and agricultural estate management, has recruited Jamie Tattersall to work from its Alnwick office and Jim Thompson to work from Hexham.

Jamie hails from north Lancashire, qualified in 2005, and has moved to the North East from a firm in York.

He said: “I wanted to continue within land agency and where better place than the beautiful landscape of the North East with its diverse range of agricultural, residential and commercial property and professional work.”

Jim Thompson, who is from a farming family in North Yorkshire, graduated from Newcastle University last year. Jim, who is currently studying for a post-graduate diploma in surveying, said: “I feel really fortunate to be taken on by Youngs. It will give me the opportunity to work on a wide variety of issues that affect the farming community.”

Simon Rowarth, a partner at Youngs’ Hexham office, said: “Over the last few years, our workload has continued to increase steadily and we are delighted to welcome Jamie and Jim to the firm.

“They will be a great asset and enable us to continue to offer a high level of service to our clients.”
