NFU elects two board chairmen

WILLIAM Martin has been elected as the new chairman of the NFU’s Sugar Board. Mr Martin, a farmer from Littleport, Cambridgeshire, succeeds John Hoyles.

Nick Wells from Lincolnshire was elected vice-chairman.

And Ian Backhouse has been elected as the new chairman of the NFU’s Combinable Crops Board. Mr Backhouse, a farmer from Goole in Yorkshire, succeeds Arthur Hill.

Jim Meadows from Stratford was elected vice-chairman.
