Homebred stock leads sale

CHAROLAIS led Perth’s spring multi-breed show and sale with a top call of 5,000gns for Thrunton Bluechip, a 21-month-old from the Campbell family – Ian, John and their father Colin – of Thrunton, Alnwick.

Bluechip was out of a homebred dam by Blelack Jaguar and one of a string of five entries from the same vendors by Burradon Talisman, sire of the 55,000gns Perth intermediate champion, Thrunton Voldemort. The buyer was KM Fraser, Newburgh. Fife. The next Talisman son at 3,500gns was Thrunton Bastian, another 21-month-old, this time out of a homebred dam going back to Moncur General. Bastian was knocked down sold to JH Paton, Kinross.

Two-year-old Thrunton Blaze, another same way bred entry, commanded 3,200gns from G Limond, Maybole, Ayr; Thrunton Benefactor, a 19-month-old out of a cow going back to Maerdy Location, made 2,500gns to Woodmill Farms, Auchermuchty; and the Campbells’ final entry by Talisman, August 2006-born Thrunton Bubble sold for 2,400gns to RG Barbour and Sons, Jedburgh.
