Auditors recognised at awards

AUDITORS PricewaterhouseCoopers have been recognised as Auditor of The Year at last week's Real FD/CBI FDs’ Excellence Awards.

Finance Directors evaluated the auditors, banks, technology providers and law firms that support the UK’s companies and more than 500 finance directors voted, with PwC emerging on top in the Auditor of The Year (Large Six) category.

Bill MacLeod, head of assurance at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Newcastle, said: "We are particularly delighted to win this award which is all the more important to us because it was voted for by Finance Directors who experience our work first hand.

"It is also a reflection of all the hard work and talent of our PwC audit teams. We are very grateful for the support from the FDs of the UK's companies for recognising the work of PwC as auditor of the year."
