Senergy Econnect wins top award

Hexham-based Senergy Econnect has won a top industry award in recognition of its pioneering online renewable feasibility software. Senergy Econnect was awarded the Most Innovative Web or Enterprise-based Product or Service 2008-09 accolade by Great Britain’s national mapping agency, Ordnance Survey. Senergy’s GridConnection.co.uk allows users to assess the connection of renewable energy projects around Great Britain from Lands End to John O’Groats. The online feasibility software was specially developed to allow those interested in connecting renewable energy schemes to quickly, accurately and cost-effectively carry out grid integration assessment studies for projects such as windfarms and biomass schemes. The award, which was announced last week, comes after the UK’s largest land manager, the Forestry Commission, recently announced an agreement with Senergy Econnect to access its GridConnection.co.uk online feasibility software to identify the costs and technical feasibility of connecting to the distribution network to determine the real potential of its sites.
