Steeplejacks win new deals

STEEPLEJACK company Stone Technical Services is currently enjoying a period of growth on the back of three new contracts in the North East.
Darlington-based Stone, which specialises in all aspects of high level maintenance, lightning conductor installation and steeplejack services, has been appointed to carry out a major shutdown of the chimney stacks at SRM in Sunderland.
SRM is one of the largest companies in Europe handling the disposal of organic waster materials.
Meanwhile it has won a contract to install lightning protection at Longbenton Community College’s new campus while in Berwick-upon-Tweed,
It will also carry out general high level repairs and lightning protection installation at the Swan Sports Centre.
The new deals are worth in the region of £40,000 to Stone, which now employs 24 people and plans to continually grow its workforce throughout 2009 as well as increase its £2 million turnover by 25%.
