Masterclasses for businesses

THE Institute of Directors North East branch is holding two master classes focusing on advice imperative to businesses striving to succeed in the current economic climate.

‘Developing Marketing Strategies to Succeed in Turbulent Times’ and ‘Sustainability and What It Means Now’ are two of the burning issues to be tackled at forthcoming IoD North East ‘Rough Guide to Business’ seminars.

Professor Fraser McLeay, Professor of Strategic Marketing Management at Newcastle Business School and Director of Kiwi TB Ltd., will lead the marketing presentation.

He will explore the journey that an award-winning small business took in response to changes in its operating environment with particular emphasis on dealing with adverse market conditions.

A myth-busting session, called ‘Sustainability and What It Means Now’, will be conducted by Professor David Oglethorpe, a specialist in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Newcastle Business School. This will concentrate on how businesses can embrace green issues in a downturn.
