Durham gets Ford licence

DURHAM County Council is the first in the country to gain a licence from car makers Ford to provide under warrantee service and repairs for commercial fleets.
The operation will run from the authority’s state of the art centre on the Meadowfield Industrial Estate with repairs carried out by a Master Ford Technician taken on by the council specifically for this new venture.
Ford Service business manager Ivan Hurst says these 2 factors played a key part in granting the County Council the licence, “We felt it was a great opportunity for all parties. The facilities are absolutely brilliant here and a master technician is the highest qualification awarded to technicians. Together we felt this offered the sort of high calibre servicing Ford expects from its dealerships.”
Durham County Council’s fleet manager Norman Ramsey will oversee the new business, “We have a cutting edge facility and this will ensure we deliver the best value for money not only making maximum use of what we already have, but by channelling all profits made through this venture back into supporting the huge range of services Durham County Council provides.“
