BUSINESS Link is hosting the North East Regional Business Fair at Newcastle Racecourse on February 25 and 26. The event will offer new opportunities to the region’s companies to develop business, find new contacts and drive value through their supply chains.
The two-day event is designed to support companies from all key industry sectors identified by One North East’s Regional Economic Strategy, namely automotive, chemicals, commercial creative, defence and marine, energy, food and drink, healthcare, knowledge intensive business services and tourism.
With four main features, the event will cover a wide range of topics, encouraging the region’s businesses to develop and grow.
Meet the Buyers is the main feature of the event, which will offer North East companies the opportunity to meet and sell to more than 100 UK buyers using an appointment system that allows suppliers to book guaranteed face-to-face meetings with their choice of private and public sector buyers.
This showcase event will feature a programme of free seminars providing training on topics such as finance, management, business operations, efficiency, sustainability and sales and marketing.
The seminars will include information on opportunities linked to the London 2012 Olympics and will help businesses sell into the public sector and its supply chains.
John Armitt, chair of the Olympic Delivery Authority, will be one of the guest speakers.
A support and advice zone will also form part of the two-day event, bringing together a range of organisations and offering advice and guidance to add value to businesses. Free clinics will run at this zone, covering a range of business support services and giving visitors an introduction to the extensive support available from Business Link.
