A MUMPRENEUR who was so impressed after taking her daughter to a musical group that she bought the franchise has now been nominated for three awards for her work.
Debbie Caygill, who runs the Newcastle and Northumberland franchise of Musical Minis, is up for the titles in the What’s On 4 Little Ones Awards, run by a parenting website and nominated and voted for by parents.
Ms Caygill, from Chester-le-Street, took over the franchise two years ago after being made redundant from her job as a business travel agent at Nissan in Sunderland.
Musical Minis is a pre-school music group for babies and toddlers which is designed to be both fun and educational.
Debbie’s branch has been nominated for Best National Baby & Toddler Development Activity (newborn to two years), Best National Pre-schooler Development Activity (two to five years) and Debbie herself has been nominated for Most Outstanding Activity Leader for Under-fives.
She said: “I am so proud that Musical Minis is being recognised for its contribution to child development.
“We have worked so hard over the years to shape future generations and it is wonderful that we are being rewarded for it.”
