Green makeover for enterprise agency Tedco

Hilary Woolard

A SOUTH Tyneside enterprise agency is aiming to attract more small business tenants by giving its facilities a green revamp.

The Tedco centre in Jarrow, which opened in 1994, has gone greener with an environmentally friendly facelift of its workspace.

New shower, toilet and kitchen areas have been installed complete with a break out space for tenants to meet. It has used recycled paint to redecorate and environmentally friendly flooring in all general areas.

The old furniture and fittings are also being recycled and passed on through the Freecycle scheme.

Business centre manager Hilary Woolard said: “The centre will be 18 years old this year and while a good standard of decor has been maintained, we felt the time was right to give the centre a well earned facelift. Environmental impact was taken into account when we came up with the plans and the aim is to continue to bring the Tedco community here at Jarrow further together and to provide a warm welcome to new tenants who can enjoy short or long term accommodation.

“Tedco continues to offer all its tenants on-site business support and advice to help them grow and create employment which is at the heart of what the organisation has done successfully for nearly 30 years.”
