Factory has room to expand after move

THESE are busy times for the team at Tiger Filtration, a company that since its establishment in relatively recent times has never looked back.

A growing band of satisfied customers, a solid, proven portfolio of products and – most recently – a move to new premises offers the clearest indications that Tiger Filtration has good reason to look forward with optimism.

The new factory, at more than 7,000 sq ft, has more than double the floor space of the previous facility and will allow for even more product to be produced, on time, every time.

For the uninitiated, this North East-based company manufactures a comprehensive range of alternative filter elements for in-line filtration, vacuum pumps and compressors. Although a relatively new company to the compressed air industry, Tiger Filtration is already setting new standards in terms of quality, price and delivery.

This is no real surprise when you look at the pedigree behind the management team. The business was established by Bob Thompson, managing director, and Gary Ashton, sales director, in 2004, joined later by Matthew Rowe, the technical director, and between the three of them they can boast almost 70 years of experience in the compressed air industry. That this is an industry they are passionate about and aim to lead in – rather than follow – quickly becomes clear during a conversation with the directors.

Sales director Gary Ashton said: “There is no substitute for experience in this industry. Being able to work with clients and really understand what it is they are trying to achieve is the key to our success.

“Fulfilling special, one-off, bespoke requirements is a particular strength of ours. We can offer a compressed air solution for just about anything a client wants and so by default we are not restricted to “off the shelf” solutions like so many of our competitors. In fact there is nobody to touch us in terms of technical response and product delivery times.”

With regards to product types, approximately 50% of all products manufactured are vacuum pump related; vacuum pump separators are one of the company’s specialist areas.

Whilst a large proportion of sales go through distribution there is now a growing number of OEM customers starting to do business with Tiger – particularly in the Far and Middle East, as well as Canada and the US, resulting in over 60% of all goods being manufactured for export.

Said Matthew: “Working with larger OEM customers provides many exciting challenges and last year saw the company achieve ISO 9001 accreditation which is expected to help generate new business within the armed forces both home and abroad.

“To augment this, each of Tiger Filtration’s material suppliers, located both in the UK and overseas, are vetted to the highest levels. Indeed, we are so confident in our products that we offer a full 12 months money back guarantee if a client is not happy with the performance.”

Bob Thompson said: “We pride ourselves on being able to provide exactly what the customer requires, so if you are looking to filter any compressed air or gas Tiger Filtration is sure to be able to help.”

Tiger Filtration Ltd produces a range of alternative filter elements that are designed and manufactured to be, as good, if not better, than the original OEM product. The products have been independently tested to assure customers that quality is never compromised.

Over the coming months and years, Tiger Filtration is looking to increase its range of products significantly to include many other makes of filter elements all of which will be supplied with the same money back guarantee.

Bob added: “The company is delighted to have received The Queen’s Award for International Trade 2011 and would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers and staff for their continued support.”
