EXPERTS from the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) will be attending this year’s property show to offer help to start-up and young businesses.
The BIC will be running a bite-size taster session tailored towards people starting out in business.
Delivered by Neil Price, an innovation support specialist and qualified enterprise coach at the BIC, the workshop will examine the fundamentals of setting up a new business including managing finance and legal issues. It will also highlight how individuals can access business support.
The workshop will run in the morning between 11 and 11.30am and again in the afternoon between 1.30pm and 2pm.
Anyone interested in attending the workshop is encouraged to register in advance on the property show website www.commercialpropertyshow.co.uk
Neil explains: “Starting up and growing a business is a challenge. There are so many things to consider, but in order to succeed it is vital to get the basics right.
“The taster session enables people to familiarise themselves with things like finance and marketing and discover exactly what is involved in setting up and running a business.
“In addition to which we will also look at what support is available. Too many people think they have to go it alone – and they don’t.”
Neil has worked as a mentor and coach on several schemes including Young Enterprise in Sunderland and Enterprise Language Champions. He has run his own business and his career also spans roles in the public and private sectors.
