Part time no barrier for Christopher

WHILE studying for a BTEC in Art at Walbottle 6th Form College, Christopher Hannah (17), approached Acumen Development Trust to help
him in his search for part-time work.
Acumen’s recruitment service, People Acumen, in Newcastle put Christopher’s application forward to a few businesses in the hospitality, leisure and tourism sector in Newcastle and within a week, he had been offered an interview with the Malmaison hotel on Newcastle Quayside.
He secured a position with responsibility for replenishing the minibars for guests staying in the hotel.
He said: “My dad told me about People Acumen being on Westgate Road in Newcastle, and suggested that I go along, as he knew they were really helpful in finding people work.
“I’m glad I did because I had a job interview within a week, and I started work a week later. It fits in perfectly with my studies, as I only work on weekends and the staff are really friendly and helpful.
“I never thought I’d find what I needed so quickly. I have recommended People Acumen to all of my friends that are looking for jobs”.
People Acumen in Newcastle is funded by Newcastle New Deal for Communities.
