Achievements recognised at two North East awards
TWO prestigious award ceremonies have recognised the achievements of individuals, employers and partners who have, together with Working Links, changed their own lives and those of others.
The events at The Village Hotel in North Tyneside and the Stadium of Light in Sunderland highlighted the achievements of jobseekers and learners who have surmounted many barriers to get their lives back on track. And the awards were also an opportunity to reward and recognise the achievement of businesses and organisations that go the extra mile to support Working Links clients and help them with training or any issues they have in adjusting to being in work.
The awards were presented by Diane Hedley and Dave Peebles from Jobcentre Plus and, in Sunderland, Dave was joined by a local hero, boxer Tony Jeffries, who won an Olympic bronze last year and who was helped in his amateur days with sponsorship from Working Links.
Neil Johnson, regional director of Working Links, said: “Working Links is delighted to once again recognise the enormous achievements of individuals, employers and partners. It is particularly rewarding for us as an organisation to publicly acknowledge the tremendous degree of effort that our employers put into developing great working relationships with us and the support they give our clients.
“They have all demonstrated a deep commitment to partnership working, giving many of our clients that valuable first opportunity in work. And they have discovered that investment pays off because they gain motivated and loyal people who are keen to work.”
