A KIND-HEARTED salesman from JenningsMazda has stepped out to raise money for two charities.
For the past few months Adam Price, 23, from Middlesbrough and Jason Thomas, 21, from Ormesby, have been following a strict fitness regime with one objective in mind - to successfully complete the Redcar Half Marathon and raise cash for their chosen charities, MacMillan and Everyman.
Unfortunately, three weeks prior to the event taking place, Jason sustained a serious back injury which resulted in him being unable to take part in the marathon.
“I was devastated about not being able to take part and automatically thought my fundraising would come to a standstill too,” said Jason. But that wasn’t the case when best pal Adam stepped in and agreed to donate half of what he raised towards Jason’s chosen charity, Everyman.
Jason added; “I was absolutely delighted when Adam agreed to spilt the cash, which means both MacMillan and Everyman will both receive a lump sum.”
Adam, who is no stranger to participating in marathons having successfully completed the Toronto Marathon in Canada with his younger brother, Simon, last October, was more than willing to help his pal out.
“Jason had worked so hard to compete and when he injured his back and was unable to take part, it was the least I could do for him.”
Managing to complete the Redcar Half Marathon in two hours, nine minutes and 33 seconds, Adam is looking to take part in the Tees Pride Middlesbrough 10K Run, which is scheduled to take place in September.
“Hopefully, if Jason has fully recovered from his injury, we will both be able to do the run together and raise even more money for our chosen charities.”
