BRING ON CHAMPIONS!

WE’RE looking for Tees Valley’s charity champions.

Year Of The Volunteer is a key new strand of the Tees Pride campaign in 2009.

We’re looking to highlight the great work under way in the voluntary sector, throw the spotlight on local charity champions and encourage more people to put up their hand and pledge to help out.

We’ve already showcased some great stories - with people putting something back into their local community, raising cash for good causes and going that extra mile for others.

But we want to know about more of your stories.

By going online at www.gazettelive.co.uk/teespride people can tell us all about their volunteering activities.

If you have special fundraising events taking place, we want to hear about them.

Does your company support volunteering?

And are your staff giving up their time to help others?

You can also email us at teespride@eveninggazette.co.uk to tell us your story.

ONE Teesside firm which is hoping to help a local charity is the Durham Road Physiotherapy Clinic in Stockton.

The team is holding a complementary therapy taster day on June 6 from 9am-6pm in aid of the Butterwick Hospice.

People can book 20 minute appointments for treatments including Indian head massage and crystal mud treatment for hands or feet for £7.50, with all proceeds going to the hospice.

For more details you can call 01642 896141.
