Showing the way for the region

THE Fastest 50 celebrates and showcases all that is best about the dynamic North-East economy.

The companies which have made it on to this year’s list really do have something to shout about, making great strides in a whole range of different sectors and making their mark not just in the region and the UK but across the world.

They are genuine pace-setters who represent the driving force behind the progress of the region as we look to take on the challenges of the coming years.

We in the newspaper business are sometimes accused of only looking for the bad news, but I can assure you that at The Journal this is certainly not the case.

While we are fearless in our examination of the issues that affect the region, we are equally forthcoming in our willingness to highlight success and trumpet achievement. This is exactly what the Fastest 50 does and why we are proud to have been a part of the event, working alongside Ward Hadaway, since the first Fastest 50 in 1998.

We look forward to featuring more success and further achievement in the years to come.
