A move in right direction for successful Crutes

One of the region's leading law firms has expanded into larger offices due to a huge growth in business.

Crutes has taken over the prime location that formerly housed One NorthEast at Great North House in Newcastle.

The new open-plan offices over three floors are a direct contrast to the Georgian building at 7 Osborne Terrace, Jesmond, it previously occupied.

Stephen Crute, the firm's managing partner, said: "We are extremely pleased to have moved right into the heart of Newcastle, raising our already strong regional profile.

"The new offices provide the additional space we need to grow, as well as giving our tremendous staff a much improved and more efficient working environment.

They will also allow Crutes to continue to provide the high levels of personal attention we deliver to clients."

The firm specialises in work for insurers, public sector, Government, housing associations and commercial organisations. It has scored a succession of new client wins in recent months.

Its reputation has continued to grow and it has increased fee income and recruited employees in the last 12 months, which meant the move was a necessity.

One of Crutes' latest business wins comes from The Treasury Solicitor. It beat stiff competition to be awarded contracts for the North-East, covering employment and domestic property.

The Government office has appointed Crutes as the only North-East law firm to handle its work.
